Who Am I: The Basic Goodness of Being Human
with Frank Ryan & Susan Ryan
November 6 / 7:00 PM - December 11 / 9:00 PM
This is the first of a new series of classes offered for the first time at the Shambhala Center of New Haven.
The Basic Goodness Series presents Shambhala and Buddhist teachings in an experiential way, with an emphasis on understanding the view and meaning of these teachings. The initial course in this series is Who Am I? There will be six sessions focusing on the reality of basic goodness as the basis for developing a gentle friendship with ourselves, and a look at how we shape and express our genuine identity.
Classes are interactive, communal, and create a learning environment where the teachings are intimate and relevant. We train in meditation, and use inquiry, dialogue, and contemplative arts throughout the classes.
Shastri Frank Ryan and Susan Ryan have studied directly with the founder of the Shambhala community, the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and his successor, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche for over thirty years. Frank and Susan, part-time residents of New Haven, have taught extensively throughout New England and North America.
We are always willing to work with financial obstacles and find alternative means for paying for programs.
