Whether your inspiration is to exercise, heal, stretch or meditate, we welcome you to bring your yoga mat and join in this weekly practice of Shamatha yoga followed by Vinyasa flow (breath plus movement) and Yin finish (passive deep tissue stretching).
Shamatha yoga is a series of nine simple yoga postures developed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche to enhance mindfulness and loosen the body during breaks from formal meditation. It is a practice of feeling one’s physicality as one moves and holds the different asanas, or postures. Returning to sitting practice, the meditator feels refreshed and relaxed, allowing the mind to sink deeply and comfortably into the experience of body.
Yoga asana is traditionally followed by sitting meditation, so why not stay for the Open House meditation afterward?
