Shambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human (For Parents)
with Deborah Hoskins & Steve Hoskins
January 11 / 7:00 PM - January 12 / 6:00 PM
Free Public Talk, Friday, January 11th, 7:00 p.m.
This Level I program is open to parents only. It doesn't matter what age your children are: if you are a parent, you are most welcome to attend. The training is designed to help facilitate the busy lives of parents who might be able to fit a one day program into their weekend schedule but not two. The talks will focus on how the Level I teachings apply to being a parent.
We are not providing childcare, but it is hoped that parents of younger children would only need to find a baby sitter for the one day and could attend together so that each would benefit.
The one-day program is a complete Level I training. Participants will be eligible to go on to a Level II program whenever they have the opportunity.
Shambhala Training Level I participants are introduced to basic goodness and the practice of meditation in a supportive, social environment. The day includes talks by the director, group meditation practice, discussion, and individual meetings with meditation instructors.
Price: $100; $75 for full-time students with student ID; $25 for repeaters. Scholarships are available; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please refer to our Generosity Policy at this location.
The Friday night talk is free and open to the public. To reserve space in the weekend workshop, pre-register by clicking on the "Register" button below. The registration fee will be due in full at the Friday evening talk. To request a discounted fee, please contact Rachel Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org at least five days before that date.
