Shambhala Training is a series of contemplative weekend workshops suited for both beginning and experienced meditators and of benefit to people of any spiritual tradition. The simple and profound technique of mindfulness and awareness meditation is the basis of this secular path. At Shambhala Training workshops, participants study and practice Shambhala warriorship - a tradition of human bravery and leadership. This path shows how the challenges of daily life are opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action.
Participants at Shambhala Training Level 2 will work with the practice of mindfulness-awareness meditation to observe how they create a cocoon of habitual thoughts and attitudes to mask their fear. And they will learn that, despite this cocoon, the there is no fundamental obstacle to experiencing basic goodness. The weekend includes talks by the director, group meditation practice, discussion, and individual meetings with meditation instructors.
