Way of Shambhala: Meditation in Everyday Life
with Miriam Klotz
July 9 / 7:00 PM - August 6 / 9:00 PM
Registration at 6:30 PM on July 9th.
Meditation in Everyday Life provides an opportunity to deepen the experience and understanding of meditation for new students, with special attention on practical suggestions for establishing a sitting practice in the midst of our speedy society. Each evening class allows for open discussion of the challenges that students are facing in their practice.
Further, this series of classes offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation can impact our daily lives, and can expand to impact our whole society.
Turning the Mind into an Ally by Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche, is the required text for this course, and we will also be using readings from Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior by Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche. Both text are available for purchase either locally at BookPeople or online at Amazon.com. We also generally have a few copies for sale at our center.
Class Tuition: $90.00. Generosity Policy applies: The Austin Shambhala Center does not wish restricted finances ever to interfere with one’s ability to receive the teachings – If you need to arrange a payment plan or negotiate a reduced tuition, please make arrangements prior to the program by contacting Lauren Newton at laurenn123@mac.com.
