Shambhala Training Level I with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche & Eve Rosenthal
January 11 / 7:00 PM - January 13 / 1:00 PM

The Halifax Shambhala Centre is pleased to announce that Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche will be giving the keynote talk at the Shambhala Training Level One weekend retreat, January 11th-13th, Directed by Eve Rosenthal.

In Level One, the ancient wisdom of Shambhala comes alive in our daily existence. This first level presents the view that the world is sacred and basic goodness is our birthright. All humans, regardless of culture or religious tradition, can discover the goodness of human life and radiate that goodness into the world for the peace and sanity of others.

This special Level One features Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and talks by Acharya Eve Rosenthal. Throughout the weekend we will provide meditation training and practice, and opportunities to discuss your experience with teachers in small groups.

The Shambhala Training path is based on the practice of mindfulness-awareness meditation as a means to develop fearlessness, confidence, openness, and gentleness toward ourselves and toward our world, with an emphasis to apply the wisdom of meditation to our everyday lives.

This weekend retreat is recommended for new and experienced meditators.

NO pre-requisite.

PLEASE BE PREPARED TO STAY UNTIL 7PM on Saturday. We are very fortunate to have the Sakyong teach at this level, and with so many people this afternoon session might well go later than scheduled.

Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche serves as temporal and spiritual director of Shambhala. The Sakyong—literally "earth-protector"—is a "dharma king" and lineage holder of Shambhala. He makes Halifax his home and we are delighted to have him give the keynote address at this very special level one weekend program.
