We’re very pleased that Acharya Barbara Märtens has agreed to come to this conference. Acharya        Märtens has been appointed as the Representative of the European Acharyas, and has also been
entrusted by the Sakyong to introduce Shambhala Meditation in Europe. The conference will be a first        occasion to find out more about this simple and profound meditation the Sakyong has introduced this        year.  

•    Shambhala Salons
Did you ask yourself how the Shambhala Salons work? We’ll further explore on the art of hosting
salons, learning by doing. More and more we are invited to gather for open conversations that
address social transformation, in particular since the Sakyong has composed the Enlightened Society
Treatise. There will be a possibility to receive the Reading Permission for it during the weekend. We’ll
work on different Salon topics, directly emerging from this gathering.
