Shambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human
with Betsy Pond
November 17 / 8:30 AM - November 18 / 3:00 PM
Through the practice of meditation, we glimpse unconditional goodness as the ground of our existence. Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings.
Shambhala Training is organized into five weekend programs that include meditation training and practice, talks by senior instructors, personal interviews and group discussions. Levels I-V provide a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, emphasizing the development of genuineness, confidence, humor, and dignity within the complexity of daily life. The programs are recommended for new and experienced meditators, as well as for those looking to enrich their existing spiritual path.
Participants should be aware that they must attend all parts of a Level, i.e. the entire Level, in order to receive credit for the completion of the Level, which is a prerequisite to attend the next Level.
Meals: Breakfast & lunch - with vegetarian options. The group is invited to go out to dinner Saturday night, but it is not required.
We would greatly appreciate your registering online before the class, so that we can anticipate class size for food and material preparation.
Registration is confirmed by payment. We accept payment plans, e.g. post-dated checks. If full payment is an obstacle, please contact the Head of Way of Shambhala, Jackie Snyder firstname.lastname@example.org for other options.
If you have the means to provide a full or partial scholarship for someone else to attend this program, your donation is welcome.
If you have any questions, please contact Course Coordinator Martha McCabe.
