Way of Shambhala II: Emptiness
with Shelley Pierce & Steve Seely
February 28 / 6:30 PM - March 28 / 9:00 PM
Form is emptiness; emptiness itself is form.
Emptiness is no other than form; form is no other than emptiness.
In the same way, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are emptiness.
Thus, Shariputra, all dharmas are emptiness.
-- from the Heart Sutra
When the teaching of the Heart Sutra first occurred, it is said that its proclamation of emptiness was so powerful that several highly realized disciples died of heart attacks! Yet today we can read it without missing a beat. In this course we will study and contemplate the sutra line by line and bring these teachings alive so that we too could take them to heart. What is ego? What is egolessness? Emptiness? We will mix view with practice as we study.
Please register online by February 25 with your intention to attend so we know we have a quorum to hold the class.
Prerequisites: Shambhala Training Level V, or permission from a meditation instructor.
