Way of Shambhala: Wisdom in Everyday Life
with Matthew Lyon
January 3 / 6:30 PM - January 31 / 9:00 PM
Meditation sharpens our intelligence and uncovers our wisdom. Students will receive practical instructions for transforming confused emotions and situations into effective actions as they arise. No longer deterred or depressed by obstacles, we can include everything as part of the path. The challenges of daily life become opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action.
The Wisdom in Everyday Life, the fifth class in the Everyday Life Series, looks at the qualities of a master warrior whose vastness of mind and skills in enriching the world are fully manifested. Here the practitioner is introduced to the Vajrayana teachings of Buddhism, which reveal the sacredness of the phenomenal world.
Prerequisite: Fearlessness in Everyday Life.
This class will meet on 5 TQhursdays (1/3, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31) from 6:30pm- 9pm
The Way of Shambhala I is our core practice and education program. It includes five Shambhala Training weekend programs (levels I through V), and five companion 5-week classes (Meditation in Everyday Life through Wisdom in Everyday Life). You are encouraged to do both together. However, one can attend just the weekends in order, or just the IEL classes in order. To proceed beyond WoS I, all weekends and week night classes are required.
