Links to Members' Websites Tony Duff The Padma Karpo Translation Committee is under the direction of the long-time Buddhist translator Tony Duff. Tony has lived with and translated for Tibetan lamas for over thirty years. His committee specializes in providing high-quality tools for translation and study of the Tibetan language (see the Tibetan Computer Company). His dictionary, The Illuminator Tibetan-English Dictionary, receives wide acclaim for its precision and general excellence. PKTC is now moving on to use those tools to provide very high-quality translations. A free edition of the Bodhisatvacaryavatara is already available. Tony also established and directed the Drukpa Kagyu Heritage Project, which completed the publication of 108 volumes of texts from the Drukpa Kagyu tradition in 2002. Derek Kolleeny Derek Kolleeny is a senior teacher in the Shambhala International community. Derek has been a member of the Nalanda Translation Committee since 1982. In 1999, Derek linked up with the other board members of what was to become the Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center (TBRC). His passion and vision focus primarily upon the preservation and dissemination of the treasures of the Indo-Tibetan Buddhist spiritual tradition, both in the original language as well as through authentic translations into English and other western languages, and the development of a database of existent translations, published and unpublished, as well as works in progress. Robin Kornman On July 31, 2007, Robin Kornman, one of the founding members of the Nalanda Translation Committee, passed away at age 60, from complications due to cancer following a lengthy illness. The Translation Committee will be working with Jane Hawes, Robin's principal colleague in Milwaukee, to help bring Robin's work on Gesar to publication. Jules B. Levinson Working with Lama Chönam and Sangye Khandro as a member of the Light of Berotsana Translation Group, Jules B. Levinson gives his time to the translation of literary works drawn from the Kagyü and Nyingma heritages, particularly the work of Jamgön Kongtrül and Jamgön Mipham, and to the translation of oral commentary given by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, Khenpo Namdrol, and Tulku Sang Ngak Rinpoche. Phil Stanley Phil Stanley is the Chair of the Religious Studies Department of Naropa University and Co-Director of Nitartha Institute. He is currently completing an online catalog of the six printed editions of the Tibetan canon (Kanjur and Tanjur), which is expected to be launched June 1, 2003 on the Tibetan & Himalayan Digital Library website at the University of Virginia. Ives Waldo Some of the translations of Ives Waldo (Rime Lodrö) may be seen at his web site. Gerry Wiener Gerry Wiener lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife Hiromi and two children Alyssa and Erica. Under the Vidyadhara, the great Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, he worked primarily on the Life of Marpa the Translator. He now works on translations under the Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and Khenpo Tsering Gyurme from Surmang. In conjunction with Lama Ugyen Shenpen, and more recently with the Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, Gerry has worked on the Sambhota software for publishing Tibetan.
