Contact: Tara Slone slone@sympatico.caVision Statement In order to promote enlightened society based on Shambhala Buddhist principles, we the participating artists of Kalapa Assembly 2000 are creating a network of artists and entertainers, the Shambhala Artists Network (SANe), to actively continue after this event. As we share a common vision, it is our intention to foster practice, creativity and livelihood. We are establishing a web site and database platform to keep informed and in touch on an international level. Several potential collaborations have already emerged and will be explored within the next year. These include a Shambhala theatre company, a Kalapa Valley arts festival, a Stupa Consecration concert and performances including a play based on the life of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, a group researching the possibility of a performing arts high school, smaller group collaborations exploring innovative approaches to theatre training and performance work, and a musician’s database. Long term we envision the development of culture in Shambhala Society to include multifaceted arts centres, educational institutions and production companies. We are SANe and we invite you to join. Signing up We invite anyone interested in being a part of SANe to tune into sane-talk (which we hope will be a practical, non-discursive forum) by sending a message to sane-talk-subscribe@egroups.com, or go to the egroups web site: http://www.egroups.com/group/sane-talk . Don't forget to fill out the member information so we can all find out about each other's interests! We hope this will encourage greater communication amongst our sangha artists and entertainers, more work opportunities and many projects promoting wakefulness and Great Eastern Sun vision. |
