June 7: Arrival in BeijingDear Shambhala Community Members, A few hours ago the Sakyong and his party arrived safely in Beijing. They are resting now in their hotel after a long, but uneventful, flight. Airport stops and luggage transfers in Seattle and Tokyo went quite smoothly, as did customs in Beijing. The Sakyong is in wonderful spirits and health, looking forward to tours of the Forbidden City and the tomb of Emporer Yung Lo during the next two days before the party proceeds westward toward Tibet. We, the sangha - whose ongoing generosity is making this trip possible - are worthy of great respect and appreciation. Thank you. Yours in the dharma, |
