2012-09-09 - President Reoch describes Sakyong's

The Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche, concluded his summer cycle of teaching last week with a Shambhala Sadhana feast practice at Dechen Choling. In the previous four and a half months, he had given more than 120 talks and abhishekas to assemblies and gatherings attended by some 5,000 people (not including online audiences) from 25 countries.

During the feast, Richard Reoch, the President of Shambhala, gave a vivid overview of the Sakyong's teaching, the direction in which he is leading our community, and a foretaste of what is to come.

The president began by recalling that on Shambhala Day, the Sakyong had declared: "There is no small version of Shambhala."

"And you," the president said, "are the living -- and disturbing -- manifestation of that truth!"

The Sakyong requested that the film of the president's remarks be shared with the whole community. Please visit: http://fromourpresident.shambhalatimes.org">http://fromourpresident.shambhalatimes.org to see the film and an edited transcript of the President's remarks, posted on his column, "From Our President," on Shambhala Times.
