Invitation to Support Sakyong's Empowerment
Nov 3, 2011
Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche is now at Rigon Tashi Choeling Monastery in Pharpeng, Nepal, receiving the Nyingma Kama from His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rinpoche. The Nyingma Kama and Rinchen Terdzo are the two essential transmissions a Nyingma lineage teacher must receive and uphold. For more information please view this Shambhala Times article, written by sangha member Walker Blaine: http://www.shambhalatimes.org/2011/10/27/sakyong-to-receive-nyingma-kama-empowerments/
The Kalapa Patrons have once again led the way with their generosity by pledging an initial $25,000 to support this particular empowerment. They are asking our community to match this level of support, dollar for dollar. If you would like to become a patron for all or part of a day of the Sakyong's empowerment, you can do so by clicking here http://shambhala.org/giving/nyingmakama.php
In accord with traditional ritual, the names of the patrons will be read aloud daily.
If you wish, you can dedicate your contribution, not only to the well-being of the Sakyong's retreat, but also to any special person or event in your life -- it could be an aspiration for a person who is ill, for someone who is close to death or had died, for a newborn child (or a child about to be born!) and so on.
