Meditation in Everyday Life

September 10 - October 8, 2012
Time: Mondays, 7 - 9 PM
Location: Shambhala Meditation Center of Washington DC
Suggested Donation: $100

PLEASE NOTE: Meditation in Everyday Life (MIEL) is designed to accompany the weekend program Shambhala Level I, The Art of Being Human.  Although the MIEL course and the Level I program can be taken separately, people generally get more out of each when taking them together.   The Level I program may be taken on September 29-30 (i.e., either before MIEL or near the end of MIEL).  We are offering a “Package” option to register for both MIEL and either the August or the September Level I program; the total requested fee is $200, or $175 if prepaid three weeks prior to the Level I program for which you register.  (If taken separately, the combined full requested fee is $250.)

Registration is now closed for this class. We have reached our capacity. If you would like to be on our waitlist, please email

We expect these popular programs to fill quickly, so register early to guarantee yourself a space.

This 5-week course provides instructions and support for mindfulness meditation practice becoming part of one's everday life, revealing our innate stability, strength, and clarity. Classes include talks, discussion, contemplation and other exercises.

No prior experience with meditation is necessary, and people from all religious traditions or who have no religious preference are welcome to participate.

Meditation in Everyday Life, and the companion program Shambhala Level I, The Art of Being Human, are both open to everyone.  Although designed to be taken in conjunction with Level I, this course may be taken alone.

Participation in the Center’s Monday evening meditation sessions at 6pm is encouraged.

*As always, we do not want financial circumstances to be a barrier to participation in this class; if you are unable to afford the suggested amount, please contact Nancy Green at Also, please contact Nancy if you have questions about the program.
