General Information
The Shambhala Meditation Center of Washington DC is conveniently located in Washington, DC's Cleveland Park neighborhood on Connecticut Avenue, steps from the Cleveland Park Metro stop, on the Red Line. We recommend coming by Metro, if at all possible. The Metro is located directly in front of our building.
Should you decide to drive to the Center, please realize that while parking spaces can be found, parking in the Cleveland Park neighborhood could be challenging during some evenings, and restrictions do exist, given the dense residential, restaurant, retail, and nightlife mix. Please allow enough time to park and arrive at the Center with plenty of time before the start of your class, workshop or meditation session.
Do not park in the spaces in the alley behind the building, directly outside of the Center's entrance, on the side of the building. The parking there is private or reserved.
Center Entrance
The Center is located in the building at 3520 Connecticut, to the left of the fire station, midway in the block between Ordway and Porter Streets, NW.
The private entrance to the Center is located on the left side of the building, not at the front of the building. You cannot enter the Center from the Connecticut Avenue entrance. If approaching the building from Connecticut Avenue, go up the stairs along the left side of the building (underneath the yellow Subway sandwich shop awning). The Center entrance will be at the top of the stairs to your right.
You can alternately come into our side entrance at street level, with quick access from the alley off of Ordway or Porter Streets, without having to use stairs. The alley is parallel to Connecticut Avenue and directly behind the block containing our building. Our entrance is halfway up the alley underneath a brown awning.
