Shambhala Buddhism
The Shambhala Buddhist path is based primarily on the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism, but also includes elements from the Zen and Theravadin traditions, and is characterized by a strong emphasis on mindfulness-awareness practice. Programs are designed to deepen students' understanding and experience of buddhadharma in a gradual and systematic way. Group practice programs ensure that students can develop according to their own interests and commitments.
The Center offers a wide selection of classes and programs to introduce and to deepen understanding of Buddhism in the three yanas or vehicles, Hinayana, Mahayana and Vajrayana. A formalized course of study, Shambhala School of Buddhist Studies, has been designed to provide a thorough and progressive understanding of the Buddhist path. It consists of a series of courses taken over a few years with each course usually including five classes and a practice intensive. You do not need to be a Buddhist to take our classes or programs.
