Meditation
What is meditation? Meditation is a natural state of the human mind—at rest, open, alert. The basic meditation technique predates all religious traditions, though it is used in one way or another by each of them. Undertaken as a steady practice, meditation allows the mind to relax and settle. It encourages our inherent qualities of stability, clarity and mental strength to emerge.
The public is welcome to meditate with us every Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Personal instruction is available at no cost.
About Us
Throughout history, men and women have aspired to create societies that enable them to express the dignity of human existence and to lead meaningful lives within a flourishing culture. This is the vision of Shambhala. The Eugene Open Sky Shambhala Study Group welcomes everyone interested in the practice and study of meditation as a means of expanding gentleness and nonaggression into all areas of life. We are a small and enthusiastic group of people who meet to familiarize ourselves with the mind through meditation, study and contemplation.
