From Raleigh-Durham Airport via I-40 West
Exit the Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU) to I-40 West. About 5 miles from RDU, take the Durham Freeway North (Rte 147 North) to Durham. Exit at Swift Ave to the RIGHT. Get in the left turn lane at the first light (Main and Broad Street). Turn LEFT onto Main Street. Get into right lane. Go through light at Ninth Street. After crossing 9th Street, go 0.4 miles to the next right, which is at the corner of Erwin Square (the multi-storied office building on the right); turn RIGHT (there is no street sign, but this is Rutherford Street). The Durham Shambhala Center is at the end of the block, the only house on the left side of the street between Main Street and Hillsborough Road. The Center is the little white house with green shutters, 733 Rutherford Street. Park in the parking lot on the left side of the street just past the Center or park on the right side of the street opposite the Center.
From Chapel Hill
From 15-501 take Exit 108-D (Hillsborough Road), exiting to the RIGHT. At Hillsborough Road, turn RIGHT. As you are traveling on Hillsborough Road, at the third stoplight there is a "V",and you should go straight (i.e.,take the left fork). Continue on Hillsborough Road through two more stop lights. At the last stoplight (15th street) the very large Greystone Baptist church will be on the right. Continue straight past the light and go one more block, then turn RIGHT onto Rutherford Street. The Durham Shambhala Center is the little white house with green shutters on the right, 733 Rutherford Street. There is a parking lot on the right and you should park in that lot or on the left side of the street opposite the Center.
From Erwin Road from Chapel Hill, turn right onto 751, get on to 15-501 North (turn left after going under the overpass). Get in the left turn lane at the first light (Main and Broad Street). Go toward Ninth Street on West Main Street. Take Anderson Street North past the Duke Gardens and over the Durham Freeway. Turn RIGHT at the light onto West Main Street.
