Acharya Moh Hardin
The word "warrior" as used in the Shambhala and
Bodhisattva traditions, or pawo in Tibetan, means "one who
is courageous." Courage is inherent in human beings, so it does not
need to be cranked up but awakened. As the Vidyadhara Chogyam
Trungpa Rinpoche said:
"The term warrior relates to the basic situation of being a human being.
The heart of the warrior is this basic aliveness or basic goodness. It is not
being afraid of who you are."
In the container of our practice program, we will explore how to awaken
courage and be a warrior bodhisattva in our world today. Join us for a
week or both weeks!
March 14 - March 29, 2009

clarify and stabilize mind transmission. For
Shambhala Vajrayana students

The Dathun, or month of
meditation, has been the heart of the Shambhala
Buddhist practice tradition since Chogyam Trungpa
Rinpoche introduced it in 1972. The Dathun is a
four-week long group meditation practice that
provides a precious opportunity to deepen your
connection with the different stages and
techniques of shamatha/vipashyana practice. The strong
container of the Dathun is an excellent way to
establish, or reestablish an ongoing daily
meditation practice that will permeate your life
on and off the cushion. If you cannot manage the
entire month, join us for one, two or three weeks.

The Garuda series mixes
meditation with the vastness of space beyond
concept. Through an exploration of the Buddhist
teachings of emptiness and clear seeing, the
meditation opens to the groundlessness,
uncertainty and creativity of the world as it is.
By exploring the entrapping emotions of hope and
fear, we learn to go beyond them and soar
fearlessly like the mythical bird known as the
Garuda.
