We open the center at various days during the month for an extended meditation practice.

On the last Sunday of each month, in addition to the regular schedule, we hold a "Nyinthun." This is an all day meditation practice that includes silent, walking, and contemplative meditation and shamatha yoga. The morning practice is from 9:00 a.m. until noon and the afternoon practice is from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. If you are unable to stay for the entire day we ask that you commit to either the morning or afternoon session. There is an hour lunch break in which functional silence is observed. Please bring a sack lunch. Beverages are provided.

On various Saturdays during the month, we open the center from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for an extended meditation practice. Please see the Google calendar for the current schedule.

On Saturdays, the schedule is more flexible than during a formal Nyinthun practice. You're welcome to join us for a for a mini meditation retreat or for just a brief thirty minute to an hour break sometime during the afternoon. Sitting meditation is interspersed with walking meditation and shamatha yoga at regular intervals.

Instruction in basic mindfulness-awareness meditation is available at no cost.
