Welcome
to the Shambhala Meditation Group
We are a small
but dedicated group of meditation practitioners affiliated
with Shambhala
International, an international
community of meditation and retreat centers founded by Chögyam
Trungpa Rinpoche,
and now led by his son, Sakyong
Mipham Rinpoche.
Many of us first learned of Shambhala Buddhism through the teachings
of Pema
Chödrön.
Our
center is located at 4495 Indianola Ave., five blocks south of Morse Road. We offer public meditation, free meditation
instruction, a core
curriculum of Buddhist and Shambhala teachings, as well as training
in advanced contemplative practices. The Shambhala Meditation Group
of Columbus is a nonprofit, volunteer program.
Our
diverse programs include various times to practice meditation,
regular classes in Buddhism through the Shambhala School of Buddhist
Studies,
a monthly Nyinthun (all day meditation period), and an
ongoing series of meditation weekends known as Shambhala training.
We
invite you to visit our small but welcoming community. Instruction
in basic mindfulness-awareness meditation and consultation with a trained
meditation instructor are available at no charge.
