Welcome
The Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and currently headed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
Located in the Oddfellows building on 2288 Fulton street, the Berkeley center is one of the oldest Shambhala centers in the mandala. For over 30 years we have offered the ground of both Dharma and Shambhala to the bay area.
There are a wide range of programs, classes, and ongoing practice offered at the Berkeley center. We feature open meditation practice every week night at 7:00 PM, an open house every Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, as well as free meditation instruction. We sell books, practice supplies, and meditation cushions in our two bookstores. Please see our online calendar, or download our latest newsletter for more information.
Practice and study go hand in hand. We hope that you will use this website and our center to deepen your practice as well as your understanding of the path.
