Shambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human
Dec 12-14 with Catherine Neill

The key to warriorship and the first principle of Shambhala vision is not being afraid of who you are. We need to discover what we inherently have to offer to the world. Chögyam Trungpa

Shambhala Training is a secular meditation training suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators. By looking directly at our own experience, we discover a continuity of awareness underlying the changing conditions that make up our lives. This leads to the development of genuine confidence, humor, and personal dignity within the complexity of daily life.

Through the practice of meditation, we glimpse unconditional goodness as the ground of our existence. Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as gentle and compassionate human beings.

Program Schedule
Fri, Dec 12, 7:30pm - about 9pm
Sat, Dec 13, 8:30am - about 5:30pm

Shambhala Training Level II: Birth of the Warrior
Date Jan/Feb 2009, Prerequisite: Level I
Having experienced a taste of basic goodness, we want to go forward. Meditation practice allows us to observe how we create a cocoon of habits to mask our fear. We begin to appreciate that there is no fundamental obstacle to experiencing basic goodness.

Shambhala Training Level III: Warrior in the World
Date Feb/Mar 2009, Prerequisite: Level II
Through daring and gentleness we open to a clear perception of the world and its feedback. We begin to engage the world directly and extend the attitude of fearlessness to our daily activities.
