The Shambhala Meditation Center of Atlanta is part of an
international community of more than 170 meditation centers founded by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
and now led by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. The Shambhala Buddhist path, unique in the world of western
Buddhism, combines the teachings of the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions of Tibetan Buddhism with the
Shambhala principles of living an uplifted life, fully engaged with the world.
Our Center, located at 1447 Church Street in Decatur, offers meditation instruction and introductory
talks on Tuesdays and Sundays, free of charge. We also offer a core curriculum of Shambhala Buddhist
teachings, meditation practice sessions, programs for families and children, and training in contemplative
practices and traditional arts.
People of all religious and spiritual traditions are welcome. Our members, friends, and visitors
discover that meditation practice enriches their chosen spiritual traditions.
